Overview
GNSEF is a regional fair that includes much of the eastern portion of Nebraska, bounded on the east by the Missouri River and on the west by Clay county. Anyone in grades 6-12 attending school in this region is eligible to compete.
The counties in Nebraska included in our region are: Wayne, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Colfax, Dodge, Washington, Douglas, Saunders, Butler, Polk, Merrick, Hall, Hamilton, York, Seward, Sarpy, Cass, Otoe, Lancaster, Saline, Fillmore, Clay, Jefferson, Gage, Johnson, Nemaha, Richardson, Pawnee, Thayer, Platte and Adams excluding the school districts of Trumbull, Doniphen, Kennesaw and Silver Lake.
GNSEF chooses two winners of all-expense paid trips to compete
in the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair each year.
If you attend school in our region you must compete in GNSEF
in order to be eligible to attend INTEL ISEF.
GNSEF follows and strictly enforces the rules of INTEL ISEF.
Deadline for entry in GNSEF is March 1, 2009.
GNSEF will be held March 27-29, 2009.
GNSEF divides projects into 14 categories and two divisions.
The junior division includes students in 6th through 8th grade
and the senior division includes students in 9th through 12th
grade. Categories include Behavioral and Social Sciences, Biochemistry,
Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Space Sciences,
Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Medicine and
Health, Microbiology, Physics and Zoology. Team projects are
also accepted.
